Scaur Hill Fort History

The Scaur Hill Fort was built in the 19th century on the highest hill and it is surrounded by a defensive rampart.
It includes a dry moat and underground passages that connect Ely’s Harbor to Great Sound.
The Scaur Hill Fort is spread over nine hectares (22 acres) of parkland. It encompasses a rocky shoreline for fishing, picnic areas, a public dock, and exciting trails.
The world’s smallest drawbridge, the 17th-century Somerset Bridge, lies in close vicinity to the fort.
