Bobovac History
Since ancient times, Vareš has been considered a place of strategic importance for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Bobovac, the former seat of Bosnia, where the Bosnian crown was kept and the last fortress of Bosnian rulers before the Ottoman Empire invasion in 1463, is located there.
All that is left of that fortified town and bans’ courts nowadays are just the ruins and they bear witness to the power and splendor of the ex-Medieval Bosnia state, and turbulent centuries passed irretrievably.
