Although you won’t find a huge number of castles in Norway, the fortresses
and castles found here vary greatly.
Ranging from fortresses made in the 13th century like Bergenhus Fortress or Akershus Fortress to
fortresses built in the early 20th century like the Hegra Fortress, Norwegian castles are
worth visiting when in Norway.
Although you won’t find sumptuous palaces like in other southern countries
here partly due to the climate, some palaces, like the Royal Palace of Oslo are still
interesting buildings worth seeing.
