Saxony is located on the eastern part of Germany, and the state capital is
Dresden. There are many palaces and castles located here, and some of them have turbulent
history.
It is the case of Colditz Castle, a magnificent building located in the town
of Colditz, but which was used as a prisoners-of-war high security prison.
Some of the castles in Saxony are purely magnificent, like the baroque
Moritzburg Castle near Dresden, or the late gothic Albrechtsburg Castle.
