Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is a state located in the northeastern part of
Germany. It was part of Eastern Germany before the reunification.
The seat of the state parliament is housed in the Schwerin Castle, one of the most beautiful castles in the
state.
The Ludwigslust Palace is another important 18th century palace that is
worth visiting. When it comes to medieval castles in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the most important
one, the Mecklenburg Castle is in ruins.
