Situated on the eastern part of France and bordering Switzerland to the
east, Franche-Comté is one of the smaller regions of France.
You won’t find many extraordinary castles or palaces here, but some of the
more famous ones include the Citadel of Besançon, the Fort de Joux or the Château de
Montbéliard.
