Fort St. Catherine is located north of the town of St George, Bermuda.
Built in 1614, the fort has undergone a few major renovations, most recently
between 1865 and 1878. It was built on the shores where the British vessel Sea Venture was
wrecked in 1609.
This wooden fort was built in 1614 to defend Bermuda from the Spaniards.
The fort's museum contains a gallery of dioramas, which showcase Bermuda's
history, replicas of the British crown jewels, small arms exhibits, and a cooking area.
An audio-visual presentation on the forts of St. George and their defense
systems can also be viewed here.
