The city of Bristol is a county in itself, although for a short period of
time it was part of the Avon county.
Being very small in territory compared to other counties in England, Bristol
doesn’t abound in castles, the most notable castle being Bristol Castle (today only a ruin)
and the Blaise Castle, which has recently opened for visitors.
